Eight things you do that make mosquitoes bite you

Image
New research has revealed that mosquitoes prey on their victims due to a number of factors. They also say that the species of mosquitoes you are exposed to can determine whether or not you are going to be bitten. So, why do mosquitoes bite you? These reasons… • Beer. Some studies reveal that mosquitoes are attracted to beer drinkers, though this is only relevant to one type of mosquito. • Type O Blood. If you have Type O blood running through your veins, you’re prime candidate for mosquito bites! Research published in the Journal of Medical Entomology found that mosquitoes were 83.3 percent more likely to land on type O carriers than type A carriers. Again, this appears to apply to one particular species of mosquito. • Pregnancy. In 2003, an experiment was conducted in eastern Sudan to see if mosquitoes were more attracted to pregnant women than non-pregnant women. The results, published on NCBI, found that out of the 18 women, the nine pregnant women attracted significantly...

Seven things women should always do after sex

Image
After sex, there are a few things a woman should do to keep healthy, such as these ones... • Wipe down with gentle soap and water. Bacteria from the fingers, mouth, and rectum can increase a woman’s chance of developing yeast or bacterial infection after sex, says obstetrics-gynaecologist, Sherry Ross. She recommends using a non-fragrant soap to wash the vagina after sex. Simply take a warm washcloth and gently dab the area with soap and water (or just warm water), moving from front to back. “Internal cleaning (such as douching) isn't necessary, because the vagina has its own internal wash cycle that keeps it clean and balanced, she adds. So, no douches allowed. • Soak in the bathtub. Besides making you feel like the pampered sex queen that you are, adding extra virgin coconut oil to a warm bath can help hydrate the skin of the outer vagina and sooth any vaginal swelling or irritation that occurs after sex, says Ross. Again, this reduces your risk of infection, she adds. • D...

FOR HEALTHY TEETH, DON'T BRUSH AFTER EATING

Don't brush your teeth immediately after meals and drinks, especially if they were acidic. Acidic foods—citrus fruits, sports drinks, tomatoes, soda (both diet and regular)—can soften tooth enamel "like wet sandstone," says Howard R. Gamble, immediate past president of the Academy of General Dentistry. Brushing your  teeth  at this stage can speed up acid's effect on your enamel and erode the layer underneath. Gamble suggests waiting 30 to 60 minutes before brushing.

5 Main Reasons Women Have Sex

Image
Women have sex when they want, unlike men that have sex whenever they can. From confessions I have gathered, it emerges that women have sex for physical, emotional and material reasons; to boost their self-esteem, to keep their lovers, or because they are raped or coerced, and this one just to say ‘I did it’. Pity patter sex Women may sometimes give in to sex for this simple reason; after all, we are women with maternal instincts. Women have confirmed over and again to have had sex with men just because they felt sorry for them. According to one, she had been dating a guy over two years and he had been pleading with her all through. One day, she said she took pity on him and agreed. However, he was out of the door as soon as he could pull his pants up (just like a dog). Here is an advice, girls: have sex because you want to and not because you feel pressured to, or are sorry for the guy (if he doesn’t have blue eyes then I don’t see why you cannot stay away). That way, should...

Olamide is immature — Xino

Image
BY ROTIMI AGBANA Former YBNL artiste, Xino, has taken a bold swipe at his former boss, Olamide, aka ‘Baddoo’, calling him an immature and inexperienced record label CEO who needs to up his ante on the business aspect of music and artiste management. In an exclusive chat with Showtime,  he picketed Olamide for lacking managerial experience, saying, it was one of the reasons he parted ways with YBNL. YBNL management and other labels in Nigeria need to adopt an entrepreneurial system that focuses on artiste development because  there is zero fan base in Nigeria. Once any new sensation comes out we all switch to that one. Olamide and other CEOs need to grow up business-wise. Beyonce’s husband, Jayz, is an undisputed boss because he understands this concept and creates acts that last to create others too”, he blurted out.” The fearless singer later corrected the impression that his music career is dying because he left the Olamide’s record label, YBNL. “I’m engaging ...

Image
Sultry Ghana/Nigerian actress, Christabel Ekeh, has never failed to get all eyes looking in her direction with her below-the-belt antics and theatrics.  Her Instagram account is loaded with provocative pictures and videos of all sorts. But days ago, the actress simply went over the edge and got many thinking if she had not lost it. She posted her naked pictures, in several poses. Early Menopause May Be Tied to Type 2 Diabetes

WEDNESDAY, July 19, 2017 (HealthDay News) -- The earlier a woman begins menopause, the greater her risk of developing diabetes, a new study suggests. Following almost 4,000 women in the Netherlands, Dutch researchers found that those who went through menopause before age 40 were almost four times as likely to develop type 2 diabetes as women whose menopause was late -- at 55 or older. The average age for menopause in the United States is 51, according to the National Institute on Aging. Overall, the risk of developing diabetes fell 4 percent for each added year before menopause, according to the study. "Early onset of [natural menopause] is an independent marker for [type 2 diabetes] in postmenopausal women," wrote Dr. Taulant Muka and colleagues at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. Their results were published July 18 in the journal  Diabetologia . The study doesn't show a direct cause-and-effect relationship between early menopause and diabet...
