Buhari is a ‘photo President,’ Asari Dokubo says, calls out Diezani, Charly Boy, others

Image
A video circulating on social media has featured former Niger Delta warlord, Asari Dokubo, in a voiceover recorded in response to the convener of the  Our Mumu Don Do  movement, Mr. Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy. In the video, as Oputa makes his case for the Abuja protest calling President Muhammadu Buhari to either resign or return home, Dokubo answers him for each argument put forward by the protesters. Essentially, Dokubo repeatedly condemns ex-Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, saying her friends who used her for personal enrichment had abandoned her. Dokubo condemns Diezani allegedly for not favouring her kinsmen in the award of contracts while she was Petroleum Minister. He seems to have a grouse with Charly Boy, an Igbo man, for not identifying with the calls for Biafra Republic. He calls President Muhammadu Buhari a photo President, while he has no complimentary things to say about ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. See the video: https...

Wearing a wig can cause hair loss

Image
In my experience as a hair loss consultant over the last few years, 80 per cent of the women who walk into my clinic wear a wig and I ask myself why? I can only surmise that when a woman wears a wig, she instantly feels more confident and beautiful, and possibly even sexier. What most women are not aware of, however,  is that the constant wearing of these wigs to cover up their hair loss can actually have a deteriorating effect thereby worsening their condition and creating more hair loss. However, it is important for us to understand the origins of wig wearing for us to appreciate why in some circumstances it might be a good thing. Wearing wigs goes back to biblical times. The Jewish sheitel, for instance, is worn for religious reasons where a woman’s natural hair is shielded from the gaze of all men who are not her close relatives or husband. The Talmud teaches that the sight of a woman’s hair constitutes an arousal or sexual lure; thus a woman hiding her hair ...

Lassa fever: NMA urges more public enlightenment, hygiene

Image
As Lassa fever outbreak resurfaced in Lagos State, the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association has called for more public enlightenment and personal hygiene to prevent the spread of the disease. A factional Chairman of NMA, Dr. Olubunmi Omojowolo, made the call in an interview with the  News Agency of Nigeria  on Wednesday in Lagos. Omojowolo was reacting to the death of two Lassa fever patients on Tuesday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos, while a resident doctor at the hospital has tested positive to the infectious disease. The Chief Medical Director of LUTH, Prof. Chris Bode, confirming the reports on Tuesday, said no fewer than 100 health workers exposed to the index cases were currently being monitored. “Each of the two patients presented very late and died in spite of efforts to salvage them. “The first was a 39-year old pregnant lady with bleeding disorder who died after a stillbirth.” “A post-mortem examination...

Police kill 11 in Kenya as post-election riots flare

Image
Kenyan police killed 11 people in a crackdown on protests as anger at the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta erupted in the western city of Kisumu and slums ringing the capital, officials and witnesses said on Saturday. A security official told Reuters that the bodies of nine young men shot dead overnight in Nairobi’s Mathare slum had been brought to the city morgue. The official said the men were killed during police anti-looting operations. Separately, a young girl in Mathare was killed by police firing “sporadic shots”, a witness said. The run-down neighborhood is loyal to 72-year-old opposition leader Raila Odinga, whose party rejected Tuesday’s vote as a “charade”. A Reuters reporter in Kisumu, centre of post-election ethnic violence a decade ago in which 1,200 people died nationwide, said tear gas and live rounds were fired. A government official said one man had been killed. The unrest erupted moments after Kenya’s election commission announced la...

Buhari sets Guiness World Record, becomes first elected president resident in another country – Reno

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari must be congratulated because he has set a new Guinness World Record: President  Buhari has become the first elected president of a country to become resident of another nation while still in power! Shame on all those haters who say President Buhari has not achieved anything in over two years of being in office. Is this not an achievement! And where are all those shameless critics who keep comparing President Trump to President Buhari? The two of them are not mates at all. Not only is President Muhammadu Buhari older than President Donald Trump, in a comparison between them on an elementary matter like jobs we find that according to the latest US job report from the United States Department of Labor, the US economy has added 1,074,000 under President Trump while according to to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, the Nigerian economy lost 4.58 million jobs in President Buhari’s first year! This is no mean task! It is easy to do wha...
